Course Objectives
This Course is designed for Console Operators with an emphasis on safe operation. The Console Operator sits in the Control Room and operates the process through a computer called the Distributed Control System (DCS).
The Console Operator is at the center of the process with overall control of every aspect of safe operation. The roles and responsibilities of the DCS Operator require competence, knowledge, and skill. This course will cover the basic concepts of process control and advanced process control from the perspective of safety awareness. Interactive process control troubleshooting exercises and simulations are included to build the knowledge base of the Console Operator and to illustrate the critical importance of a complete understanding of process control as it relates to safety awareness.
This course can be used with Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If you are using Internet Explorer, please switch to a different browser before continuing.
